Jim and I have been waiting for PureZa for Life to release their new holistic dog food. Our Weimaraner suffers from chronic problems with pet food. Over the course of his 11 years, our boy has eaten many different brands of pet food. After a few months, he would develop little bumps on his back and sides that would eventually erupt into full-blown hot spots. Hot spots are extremely difficult to heal. We would change Gator to yet another healthy dog food, along with a round of steroids, and all would be well for a few months to a year or more.

We found that Gator does better on grain-free food, but we don’t have a clue what else triggers his breakouts. Our veterinarian of many years told us to expect to continue this pattern of switching foods until we hit upon one that contains nothing that causes the reaction. We do know that when he has a breakout, a novel protein is needed – one he has not tried before. Enter Hardy Balance Dog Food!

Hardy Balance from PureZa for Life is grain-free and boasts two novel proteins as the main ingredients.

The list begins with buffalo meal and duck meal, meat choices you don’t see very often in pet food and that are very high in protein percentage. These are followed by chick peas, which contain 22% protein, as well as being rich in fiber.
Field peas, flax seed, carrots, celery and beets are all high in fiber and support healthy digestion in dogs. Tapioca starch is a healthy substitute for carbohydrates, as are lentils and peas.

There are so many healthy additives to this food, including the flax seed, Menhaden fish oil, kelp meal, tons of vitamins and minerals. The Omega 3 & 6 provide extra antioxidants.

Best of all, you don’t see any preservatives, no artificial colors or flavors. Only the best ingredients are included in this dog food, and it contains a huge 30% protein percentage. Even better, it is 100% sourced and manufactured in the United States!

PureZa for Life calls this an “allergy formula,” because it is a blend of select ingredients that support allergy relief and digestive health. That’s good news for my dogs!

The retail price of Hardy Balance compares favorably to other high-quality dog foods. Another perk that I particularly like is that purchases of this food result in the company’s “pay-it-forward” plan of donating a portion of each purchase to an animal-related charity.

Founder of PureZa for Life Gregg Sturz said, “I am so excited for our customers and their beloved companions with the introduction of our new grain free Hardy Balance Dog Food (Buffalo and Duck). This is some of the finest quality dog food in the market. What’s even more exciting is that it’s better than many of the national premium brand dog foods that cost much more. It’s an incredible product that offers all the good and none of the bad! According to our nutritional experts, it’s some of the healthiest dog food you can give your pet.”

Just so you know I am on the advisory board of PureZa for Life, a position I don’t take lightly. If I didn’t believe 100% in their mission, their products and their integrity, I would not connect with them.  That said, I will state that if I kept a list of my favorite dog foods, Hardy Balance would top the list.
