Recall of Raw Frozen Food for Cats and Dogs

If your pet eats a diet of commercial, raw pet food, this recall announced today by the FDA may be of interest to you.

Bravo! Voluntarily recalled its 2 lb. tubes of Bravo! Raw Food Diet Chicken Blend for Dogs & Cats.  The product code is 21-102 and the batch ID code is 6 14 12.  There is a potential for Salmonella contamination.  No other products or sizes were involved.

Do not feed the recalled batch to pets!

The company has received no reports of illness associated with this product  The recalled food is distributed nationwide to retail stores, internet retailers, as well as directly to consumers.

This product can be easily identified by the batch ID code, 6 14 12, located on the white hang tag attached to the bottom of the plastic film tube.

If you purchased this pet food, return any unopened tubes of the recalled batch to your place of purchase for a full refund.  Pet owners should disposed of opened tubes in a safe manner and return the washed, plastic ID tag to the store for a full refund.

Salmonella can sicken both pets and people.  The FDA recommends suitable precautions be followed after handling any pet food or treats.

Animals with Salmonella infection may exhibit such symptoms as diarrhea, bloody diarrhea, vomiting, fever and abdominal pain.   People should monitor their own health for similar symptoms and seek medical treatment if needed.
