Recall: Cow Boom! Strips Beef Gullet Dog Treats

July 13, 2015

The I and Love and You Dog Treats Company announced today that it is recalling 1299 cases of its product, Cow Boom! Strips Beef Gullet Dog Treats because it has the potential to be infected with Salmonella.  This recall came about as a result of a routine sampling by the Colorado Department of Agriculture.

There have been no reports of pet or human illnesses associated with this product, and this is a voluntary recall.

Cow Boom! Strips Beef Gullet were packaged in 2 oz. bags with the lot numbers C20130-1994T1 and C20130-2024T1, and a best-by-date of 07/2016 and UPC number 8 18336 0113 4. Lot numbers and UPC codes are printed on each bag near the bar code.

If you have purchased this product return it to your retailer or contact the company at 855.ILY.LOVE Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (M.T.), or via email at

The Cow-Boom! Strips Beef Gullet treats were sold throughout the United States to wholesale distributors and retail stores for resale to consumers. The product was distributed through grocery chains and via online retailers.

If you have purchased this product, handled this product or fed it to your pet, watch for symptoms in humans such as fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping, endocarditis, urinary tract symptoms, and lethargy.  Pets may exhibit similar symptoms but some dogs may carry the Salmonella bacteria, yet show no signs of infection.  Seek medical or veterinary advice at once.

NOTE:  On July 15, I received a notice that this recall has been expanded to also include  the Cow Boom! Strips Beef Gullet Dog Treats with lot numbers ending in  5T1, as well as 4T1.

Look for a Best Buy date of 2016 or 2017 and UPC remains the same as listed above.
