Recall: Addiction New Zealand Dog Food

September 8, 2016

The pet food industry managed to go quite awhile without a recall but today, dogfoodadvisor.com notified me that Addiction Foods of Seattle, WA, has announced it is voluntarily recalling limited quantities of its New Zealand Brushtail and Vegetable and New Zealand Venison and Apple canned dog foods.  Testing by the company identified elevated levels of Vitamin A and a slight variance in calcium / phosphorous ratios.  Addiction’s concern for safety means that they are taking immediate action and implementing additional operating procedures to prevent a similar issue from occurring in the future because long-term exposure to excessive Vitamin A could affect the health of growing animals.

If you purchased the affected items, return it to your retailer. You may contact the company at 425-251-0330, Monday thru Friday 9am to 5pm PST, or by email at info@addictionfoods.com.
