Champion Pet Foods announced on April 24, 2014, that they will open a new facility in Auburn, KY. Champion’s other two “kitchens,” as they call their manufacturing plants, are located in Alberta and Ontario in Canada.
The new “kitchen” will provide another home to produce their “biologically-appropriate and fresh regional ingredient foods.”
The Kentucky kitchens will only produce Acana and Orijen brands of pet food. The company does not outsource their food and does not make foods for other companies.
I predict this will be a welcome addition to the premium pet food market in the United States. While I am not familiar (yet) with the Acana brand, I do know that Orijen products are holistic and extremely healthy for dogs and cats.
