The pet industry is alive and well.  According to the American Pet Products Association (APPA), overall spending in the pet industry was more than $58 billion in 2014 and they expect this year to be much higher.  These figures include boarding, grooming, walking, training, daycare and spa services for pets.

Second to pet services is spending on veterinary care, because we Americans take care of our pets!

However, the pet food industry leads the dollars spent because pet owners continue to become more and more aware of what makes up healthy commercial food for their fur babies.  We are all learning to choose wisely, even if the food costs a bit more, so that our dogs and cats receive the very best nutrition we can provide for them.
