Bravo! Issues Voluntary Pet Food Recall

April 4, 2013

Bravo! Chicken Blend Bravo! Chicken Blend

Bravo! has issued a recall of three of their raw, frozen foods for dogs and cats.  The specific pet food products recalled are:

5 lb. tubes of Bravo! Chicken Balance – product item code #21-405, with “best used by” dates of 3/6/15, and 3/12/15;

2 lb. Bravo! Chicken Blend – product item code #21-1-102, with the “best used by” date of 3/21/15;

5 lb. bags of Bravo! Beef Blend Burgers – product item code 51-508 with the “best used by” dates of 3/21/15, and 3/22/15.

The voluntary recall was issued because – while the products tested negative for Salmonella – they were run on the same day or adjacent day as a product that did test positive for such pathogens.  The product that did test positive was completely contained and not a threat to the public and not subject to recall.

If you have any of these products, do not feed the item to your pets.

Even though the product did not test positive, Bravo! is allowing customers to return unopened frozen tubes of food and patties to the  place of purchase for a full refund.

Dispose of any opened package in a safe manner so that it cannot be reached by pets or human hands.

Salmonella can infect both humans who handle the product and pets that consume it.  Some pets can even carry the bacteria without ever showing signs of illness.

If you believe you or your pet have been infected with a bacteria from handling or eating  pet food, contact your appropriate medical professionals for further advice.
